We are looking forpositive, fun and caring Relief Support Workers to work within our Andover service where we support five ladies with a learning disability.
The people we support in this service have a whole host of interests, hobbies and passions! From football and badminton, to bird enthusiasts who would love to be supported on trips to the Hawk conservancy and the safari to see butterflies and owls! One of the ladies that we support here likes to listen to music and have her sensory lights on in her bedroom, but when it's not time to relax it's time to dance, you might be invited to boogie down from time to time! Other interests in this service include shopping, knitting, gardening and trips to the charity shop!
We have lots of different support needs in this service, you might be supporting the ladies when it comes to accessing the community, socialising, helping with theirindependent living skills and at times being a little bit more involved and supporting with medication - particularly when it comes to reminding individuals when they should take their medication. We provide a person centered approach and support people in all of the ways that they want to be supported, as well as the ways that they need to be supported.
We put the people who we support at the heart of what we do. We make sure that everyone is as equally involved with the recruitment process as our very own recruitment team. As a relief support worker, flexibility is key for both yourselfand for the service. There are a variety of shifts that cover is required for throughout the week, including mornings and evenings and sleep ins (Payment for sleep ins is compliant with National Living Wage requirements).The best thing about flexibility? It's a two-way street. While we may require that you work a variety of shifts, being relief gives you the flexibility to pick up the hours that fit around you.
