Happy workers are productive workers. Happy workers need motivation.

Many employers struggle to understand what the best methods of motivation are for their workplace.  A handful of employers believe it is expensive to even think about implementing motivational methods into the workplace. Surprisingly, it is inexpensive.

You will be glad to know, as soon as you start talking about how to motivate employees in the office, employees are instantly motivated.

Motivation methods

A challenge which a manager may face is discovering what the most effective methods of motivation are. Four effective, inexpensive methods are mentioned below, which you can easily implement into your organisation to motivate your employees…

Give your employees a clear vision

If you show your excitement and enthusiasm around company goals, your employees will feel encouraged to support you to achieve those goals.

Good moods are always infectious — especially in the workplace, employee motivation is driven by clearly communicated missions and visions.

One challenge what many managers face is not adequately educating their employees on what the organisation is trying to achieve but, only what needs to be done by the employee.

A method which you can try is – Make a visual reminder of your company’s roadmap. Cut out words, phrases, and images that express the destination you have for the business. Clearly display to your employees’, visions which the organisation holds for the next 5 years.

Better communication

The importance of employee communication is often overlooked. Communicate with employees frequently and have more face-to-face interaction rather than just sticking to emails.

Give recognition through praising employees for a job that is well done. This should help create an emotional connection between both employer and employees.

Furthermore, if an employee has been complemented by a client or other colleagues for their outstanding service, let your employee know. As a result, employees will feel a deeper connection with the organisation.

A method which you can try is – Sharing all the positive feedback given by clients with employees, during weekly meetings.

Offer a clear path for advancement

Field and clear pathThe growth of your organisation depends on the growth of the individuals at your company.

Most employees are motivated by working towards goals. Knowing that there is an opportunity to advance within the workplace, helps to motivate employees further. Have openings for promotions within the organisation. If you see an employee struggling, guide them through their weaknesses, and help them develop their skills which may help them to reach a promotional stage.

A method which you can try is – Implementing an Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for every employee, which will help them to identify goals for themselves, to help them reach particular targets.

Provide Incentives
