Be determined to succeed within your employment

Every employer looks for employees who are determined to succeed, whilst wanting to excel within their workplace. However, the difficulty which an employee may face is showing employers that they are determined.

How can you as an employee, show your employer that you are determined? Here are a few ways…

Have a strong work ethic

Employers want to see employees demonstrate their ability to work hard. Employers want for their employees to do the job without extensive hand-holding. Candidates who set high goals for themselves, or respond well to exceeding goals from supervisors, indicate a willingness to do more than just clock in and clock out every day.

Employers want an ambitious character

Employers believe that employees who have an ambitious character will go through the effort to climb up the corporate ladder. This kind of employee will always put in their best and have high expectations for themselves.

Ambition drives creativity and a ‘can do’ attitude, bringing innovation to a company. When an employer identifies an ambitious character in the organisation, they will be willing to see things from the employee’s perspective which may be different to their own.

Be action-oriented

If you are taking on a senior lead, employers will want someone to act and take chances.  Whilst some chances may lead to failure, they will more often lead to success and mould confidence while generating new ideas. Business plans can be drafted numerous times if no action is placed by someone it is a waste of time and resources.

Have humbleness within you

According to Forbes, an employee can have all the talent in the world, but without integrity and authenticity, nothing great will be accomplished. Nobody likes someone who boasts or brags about their accomplishments. An ideal employee proves themselves through hard and commendable work.

Enthusiastic individuals are known to trigger new ideas that are unique and enjoyable in the organisation. Enthusiastic employees are the employees who tend to lighten the mood in the office, being one of the reasons they are liked by managers.

Be committed and passionate towards the cause

Employees who are passionate about their job, respect their job, seeing it not just as coming in for work. They focus on reaching the end goal. It is why employers love these characters. All employers want someone who will go the extra mile for them. This can only be shown by employees if they are constantly exceeding management expectations.

A person who is passionate about his job will not feel like he is working. That employee will also derive happiness from the time spent with his co-workers and superiors.

Make your employers feel as though you are reliable

There is nothing more irritating to an employer than an employee who does not follow instructions. This type of employer will often find faults within his work. A serious employee never misses a deadline and does nothing about it.

The employer who is struggling to meet a deadline and asks for an extension will be far more respected than the one who misses a deadline and is not apologetic to his superiors.
