Christmas is fast approaching, and for job seekers, that means a wealth of seasonal jobs. Here are our top 10 roles and job sectors that are going to be looking for jobs this Christmas.

1. Retail among top seasonal jobs

Despite reports of its demise, the high street is still alive & kicking (did you know that almost £1 million will be spent a minute on Christmas Eve, according to Visa), and jobs at this time are many: sales assistants, retail assistant, retail salesperson to name but a few.

2. Supermarkets

Supermarkets are looking to ramp up their workforce and certainly among top seasonal jobs for many.

3. Warehouse jobs

We’re also seeing a big surge in warehouse jobs (pickers, packers, fork lift truck drivers, warehouse operatives) – Amazon for example are said to have 1500 warehouse job opportunities.

Christmas isn’t always about gathering around the fireplace at home, many people love to get away from it. And that means job opportunities for a range of hotel-related jobs.

8. Festival staff

Seasonal events abound, and there are some massive Christmas markets & fairs around the county (Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Exeter, Oxford, Nottingham, Chester, to name just a few).

9. General temp work

Given that so many people take an extended break over Christmas and New Year, there’s always the option of general temp work – Reception, Administrative or Office Support for example – over the festive season.
