Development and Operations Engineer; SaaS; Reading; 46.5K

This is a great client to work for with a supportive team environment, they use agile and have a solid reputation within the industry

With 2+ years DevOps experience in continuous Deleivery and Deployment, your role will be to provide agile / scrum operational services to the software delivery teams.

Providing solid technical experience to analyse, design and implement model software solutions that are maintainable and reusable

Working with R&D to improve processes and adopting best practices

As an ideas person and team member, you will identify issues to innovate process solutions, align best practices, and improve deliveries

As a major contributor you will share in the initiatives and tasks required to achieve team goals.

You will be proactive in providing excellent "customer service"

The skills we are looking for:

Expertise in:

Continuous Integration tools e.g. Jenkins

Source Code Management and branching schemes e.g. GIT

Building and testing e.g. Ant, Maven, JSON, Groovy

Jenkins 2.0 pipelines

Configuration Management e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible

Continuous Delivery tools e.g. Nexus, Artifactory o Quality tools and metrics

Dashboarding, monitoring and alerting

Intelligent build promotion

R&D systems management and automation o Issue Tracking e.g. Jira

Virtual development and test environments - VCenter/VMWare, HyperV, VirtualBox, Vagrant

Cloud services e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP

Knowledge of:

Development, integration and automation o Bash, Python, Perl, HTML, PHP, SQL

Java, C++, C#, C

Static Source Code Analysis e.g. Coverity, SonarQube or similar

Code Coverage tools e.g. Bullseye, lcov/gcov

Networking skills

Disaster Recovery

Software quality, test and development techniques (TDD, BDD, CI etc.)

Contributes to improvement in an evolving technical environment
