  • The College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare provides undergraduate and postgraduate education across all branches of nursing, midwifery and allied health care including operating department practice and health promotion. Richard Wells Research Centre within the College has an established reputation for engaging in collaborative research that is practice focused and hosts a number of single and interdisciplinary research groups.

  • The Professor of Midwifery and Family Health will fulfil an academic role focused on establishing significant collaborative research and service improvement partnerships nationally/internationally with academic, clinical, voluntary sector and commercial partners. In addition the post will contribute to translating and implementing research through education programmes and practice development initiative, working closely with the lead midwife for education and other educational leads to deliver excellence in midwifery and family health education.

  • The successful applicant will have experience of research leadership, with a track record of generating research income and conducting and leading collaborative research and/or enterprise activities with the public/voluntary sector. In addition the post requires a strategic thinker with significant insight and knowledge of policy and professional priorities in the field of maternal and family health with highly developed communication, interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills.
