Internally this role is known as "Employability Advocate"Join us as an Employment Advisor and you could soon be playing a key role in providing an invaluable work experience programme of education for vulnerable young people with challenging behaviours. You will support the delivery of post-16 provision, including the sourcing of work experience placements, monitoring learner attendance, as well as activities to attract and retain learners.As Employability Advocate, your main duties will include:Supporting activities to attract and retain learners. Attending marketing events and taking responsibility for ensuring marketing materials are up to date. Following events ensure all enquires and leads are recorded and followed up.Supporting activities to secure appropriate work experience placements for learners on the study programme. Ensuring all pre-placement checks are carried out and all risk assessments are in place. Ensuring good communication channels between Catch22 and the work placement are developed and any concerns from learner or placement are addressed promptly and effectivelyCarrying out monitoring visits to support learners on work placement, paying particular attention to keeping learners safe, as well as the development of good employability skills.Carrying out daily attendance monitoring of learners. Following up on learner absence through parental contact. Inputting learner attendance records on the Catch22 management system and providing regular reporting to parents and Catch22 staff. Monitoring work placement attendance and taking action for learners who are not attending.Working with parents, carers, learners and other agencies to improve learner attendance and timekeeping and coordinating parental support where necessary to reduce the number of "authorised" absencesEnsuring that exit information is sought from learners who leave the programme, including the reason for leaving and the destination of the learnerBeing aware of and complying with policies and procedures relating to child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety.Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is well organised, with the ability to schedule and review work effectively and balance conflicting demands to meet KPIs while motivating your young people. You will need previous experience of working with challenging young people. In addition, we are looking for:Essential criteria:A good level of education including at least a level 2 Maths and English qualifications.Experience of working within an educational/social care setting and/or working with young people and familiesUnderstanding of issues that can affect a learner's ability to attend provision.Awareness and understanding of equal opportunitiesUnderstanding of the world of work and the skills required by employers.Ability to communicate effectively with young people and adults at all levelsAppropriate IT skills including a basic knowledge on Microsoft word and OutlookAbility to analyse data Ability to work independently with minimum supervisionDesirable criteria:Qualification in work linked with children and young peopleFirst Aid qualification

Additional Information

Salary: £13,545 to £16,931, dependent on experience (Zone 4 Grade B)Contract: Full Time 37 hours (term time only, based on 43 weeks)Location: Based between our Peterlee and Stanley sitesYou must have a driving licence access to a vehicle, as the role will be split between the two sites.
