About the job

This role is residential, and you will be given full-board accommodation for the duration of your contract.Main purpose of role:
The Activity Manager is responsible for the overall smooth running of the activity and excursion program. The main role is ensuring the safe operation of the activity program for both students and staff.Duties will include:
Report to and liaise with the centre director and head office.
Create a weekly Rota showing activity staff duties and time off.
Plan and organise the recreational programme in line with the weekly master timetable.
Confirm bookings for coaches, use of on campus facilities and entrances to attractions.
Ensure that vouchers for all attractions are filled out correctly and sent to Head Office at the time of entry.
Promote and oversee the safety and welfare of students on all activities by ensuring adequate staffing and precautionary procedures.
Review and update all activity risk assessments at the start of the course.
Make sure Anglo Leaders understand how to use the risk assessments and check that they are signing the relevant Section B before each activity and informing students of all risks.
Inform and regularly review appropriate accident and emergency procedures.
Check equipment and advise on its safe usage or ensure campus staff are doing this.
Provide on the job training for Anglo Leaders where necessary.
Be involved in all aspects of the social/activity programme, ensuring that they operate smoothly and provide a means of using new language skills from the academic programme.
Liaise with the Anglo + coordinator to check the responsibilities of the Anglo leaders and ensure they are fully prepared for their sessions.
Read and follow guidelines and rules set out in all activity staff manuals and handbooks.
Wear the Anglo Uniform.Designated Safeguarding Person
Each centre has a designated safeguarding person (DSP), who is responsible for raising awareness of and offering guidance on all matters of safeguarding including Child Protection and Prevent.
As DSP, you will:
Liaise with the Anglo Designated Safeguarding and Prevent Lead, Anita Towers, at Head Office whenever necessary.
Ensure everyone is familiar with the Anglo Safeguarding Policy and its implementation.
Make sure that staff are aware of what to do if they have concerns about a child or if a child or another member of staff makes a disclosure.
Respond to all concerns about under 18s, taking the appropriate next steps and keeping meticulous records of all reports and incidents.

Essential (Please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements):
Over 20 years of age
Native level English speaker
Based and eligible to live and work in the UK
Able and confident to lead and motivate a team
Able to delegate tasks to ensure all deadlines are met
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
Able to think on your feet, be proactive and work well in a team
Able to work in a high-pressure environment and adapt to changes at short notice
Approachable, creative, energetic and enthusiastic
Demonstrate strong organisational and problem-solving skillsDesirable:
Computer and IT literate
Willingness to act as a Local Designated Safeguarding Person
Previous experience as an Activity Leader or Manager in a residential role
Experience in leading/training a sports, leisure or similar team
Experience of working with children/teenagers in a similar environment
Route planning experience
Relatable degree
First aid qualification 1-3 years
