A popular independently run Gastro Pub located within the Bognor Regis area. Due to their location you can imagine they are extremely busy in the Summer months and are currently looking for a full-time Chef.
You can class this as a traditional British Pub that serves everyone's favourite classics such as Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips and Homemade Pies. All food is cooked from fresh ingredients and locally sourced where possible.
Key Features of the Role:
The Chef tasks and responsibilities are diversified and vary from cooking or plating certain dishes to establishing the menu and dealing with the ingredient providers. Therefore, the position requires both culinary and managerial skills.
You will need to be an experienced Chef that understands the pub industry and what is required to keep the kitchen running in a smooth manner even when you feel there is no end to the orders coming through.
As they are situated near the coast you will be extremely busy during the sunshine months, so you would ideally have high volume experience with the calmness to continue when there is no end to the amount of orders coming through into the kitchen.
Knowledge and Skills:
Be an accomplished Chef
Have worked within the pub / gastro pub sector
Experience of high-quality food prep and service, exceptional personal standards and a grasp of kitchen culture.
Familiar with all current food and safety related legislation regarding food hygiene, safety, risk assessments etc.
Have a 'can do' attitude and ambition to progress your career.
Have good stock take knowledge and competent when placing orders.
Possess excellent communication and team skills.
Be able to manage the kitchens structure set by the Head Chef on their days off.
What's on Offer?
A competitive basic salary up to £25,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
Contracted for 48 hours per week.
Tips will be issued, roughly an extra £3000 per annum on top of your basic salary.
