Our client is leading environmental management consultancy that strives to provide clients with an integrated service, offering a comprehensive range of environmental solutions to a wide range of issues. They recognise the growing importance of addressing environmental issues and the need to develop plans and strategies to protect and preserve the natural environment.

They are currently seeking to recruit an Ecologist to be based out of their Central Scotland Office.

The role would require the management of a variety of projects including some large, complex projects. The majority of work is likely to be regional, but there will be technical collaboration and networking with the ecologists working within the company around the UK. The successful candidate will be expected to lead field surveys and help plan and co-ordinate ecological mitigation works; undertake nature conservation/ecology assessments; prepare bids and management of project budgets and have proven experience working within ecological consultancy.

Skills and Qualifications required for this role:

-Full CIEEM membership (or eligible if not currently held)
-A degree in ecology or similar subject
-Strong understanding of relevant UK & EU legislation, planning policies and licensing regulations
-Up to date knowledge of survey guidance and assessment for UK protected species
-Good project management skills
-Full UK driver's licence
-Strong experience of writing EcIA chapters
-A specialism in bats or birds would be desirable
