Job Title Senior Projects Development Officer – EMENAReports to Senior Lead (Development, Impact and Learning) MENAManagement Responsibilities Manage consultants as requiredJob location In any of the following Alert offices; London, Beirut, The Hague, Kiev or TunisGrade and Level 3Contract Duration One yearEmployment Status As it is unlikely that we will be able to obtain a Work Permit for this role, all job applicants must already have the right to work in the UK or the country to which you are applying.Job PurposeThe purpose of this position is to support the delivery and growth of Alert’s peacebuilding consultancy work in the Europe, Middle East and North Africa (EMENA) region, including the delivery of peacebuilding advisory and technical services and securing new funding opportunities. This includes being a key part of the management and quality and timely delivery of the existing consultancy work and growing this portfolio, including managing client relationships. Duties and Responsibilities1.Market and profile Alert’s advisory services to donors and clients• Identifying and outreach to audiences, analysing needs and identifying potential partnership opportunities• Relationship building with clients and other potential partners and key stakeholders, including information management • Producing materials on advisory services and their impact• Developing proposals and bid documents2.Deliver advisory services through consultancy contracts•Deliver, inter alia, research and analysis, M&E, and/or conflict sensitivity advice, working individually or as part of a team.•Conduct workshops and consultations with stakeholders, including facilitating trainings.•Maintain excellent lines of communication with stakeholders and donors in coordination with Senior Lead (Development, Impact and Learning) and EMENA management team. •Ensure that new contracts cover costs of of this role and contribute to cost recovery of the EMENA programme overall.3.Manage and support the timely and quality delivery of projects based on targets• Ensure that projects are delivered to a high quality, complying with donor requirements and Alert programming standards, values and ethics • Ensure effective administrative and financial management of projects, adhering to Alert and sector best practice• Ensure timely reporting and effective information management for projects, including maintaining donor and consultant databases and results framework• Maintain excellent relationships with all key stakeholders• Support Senior Lead and EMENA colleagues to idenfity and manage a network of EMENA consultants, including remote line management of consultants across the region for specific projects 4.Support the development, fundraising and assessment of grant-based projects across the programme• Monitor opportunities and direct these to the relevant internal team• Write high-quality funding proposals• Support country teams to undertake high quality MEL of projects• Provide data from proposals and concept papers regularly, for the purposes of maintaining the organisational funding pipeline, IATI database and individual programme funding pipelines.5.Contribute to organisational learning and development• Share knowledge and information across the organisation• Contribute learning from projects and processes to strengthen the growth and impact of Alert’s work more broadly• Work jointly on cross organisational fundraising or DMEL initiatives• Stay alert to organisation-wide funding opportunities, and support negotiation of consortium and framework agreement partnerships, as necessary;• Take part in project design or evaluation processes for other Alert programmes, or for cross-organisational projects, from time to time as agreed.Travel requirementsThe post holder will be expected to travel frequently to support the delivery of consultancy contracts within the EMENA region. The frequency and duration of such travel will vary depending on the nature of the projects.
