CNC Design Engineer
The CNC Design Engineer reports to the Head of FYDS and assists other members of the Fairline Yachts Design Studio team (FYDS)
PRINCIPAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You are to help develop, enhance, implement and improve the CNC strategy for Fairline Group. Working with FYDS joinery design and production teams, you are to look at optimising the CAD data for production and manufacture of all joinery components and parts.
Further down line to investigate and adopt new processes that optimise other areas of the business using the CNC strategy.
You are to produce detailed programming for the joinery and other designs for release to the CNC machines. You will be a key member of the FYDS team helping drive improvements in joinery and other design processes increasing the overall efficiency of production.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE
Responsible for helping develop, produce and implement new strategies across Fairline Yachts, optimising the data and production information produced to enable production teams to work more efficiently across production sites.
Have a clear understanding of the CNC processes for joinery manufacture. To always learn and develop newer strategies to continuously improve efficiency throughout production.
Be able to perform and work within a team of designers / naval architects / project managers to optimise the overall design process. Always looking at giving clarity to all information being produced.
Responsible for producing all detailed programming to enable the production yards and external contractors to efficiently produce the yacht.
Occasional travel between yards and manufacturing sites.
Skills and Abilities
Marine industry background would be an advantage.
CNC, Design or practical experience in the yachting sector.
Detailed knowledge of yacht production techniques and processes.
Able to work with 2D and 3D CAD software including Siemens NX.
