About the job
We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker across Corbridge on a full time permanent position. This is to work in services with young adults who have learning disabilities. As a residential unit, some sleep over shifts will be required.
This is a great opportunity for those either within care and support services or for those who have worked within Special Education Need Schools and looking for a step into care and support work. This role supports young adults by promoting, supporting and challenging them to make progress and achieve their fullest potential.
Support with independent living and functional skills
Provide guidance, support and encouragement to young people working
Keep accurate written records/reports as required.
Be a key worker for one or more young people as required.
Support young people towards managing their own behaviour
Assist with medical needs which may include the administration of medication.
Support with personal care at times, following individual care plans.
Experience working with Learning Difficulties, Autism, Complex Needs
Ability to manage challenging behaviour
Dedication to personal development
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
Excellent Communication skills
