About the job
Reference: A4549Description: Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry wishes to recruit a Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow (depending upon experience) to support the work of PenCLAHRC, the National Institute of Health Research's Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care in the South West Peninsula, directed by Professor Stuart Logan. The PenCLAHRC funded post is available for three years from 1 January 2016 until 31 December 2018. You will work on a range of existing and new PenCLAHRC projects as well as playing an active role in identifying new topic areas for development.
PenCLAHRC is a dynamic and flourishing organisation. This post offers an exciting opportunity to become part of a successful and enthusiastic team committed to improving public health and patient outcomes through innovative health research and implementation. PenCLAHRC's novel ground-up approach to research, led by patients, clinicians and managers in collaboration with researchers, has led to notable successes and we are determined to build on these. More than anything, we are dedicated to doing research that makes a difference. If this sounds like the kind of environment in which you would flourish, and you meet the criteria set out in the job description, we would really like to hear from you.
We are particularly keen to develop PenCLAHRC's capacity in three areas: the application of quantitative methods to health services research; intervention development; and implementation science and related fields (knowledge mobilisation, knowledge translation, etc.). We welcome applications from individuals with a background in these areas but are especially keen for applicants to have expertise in additional topic areas as well.
You will possess a relevant PhD or have an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study, be a nationally recognised authority within their health services research field, and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. At Senior Research Fellow level, you will be an internationally recognised authority within their health services research field and be expected to contribute to the future definition of PenCLAHRC research objectives and questions.
To discuss the role, please contact Professor Richard Byng, PenCLAHRC Deputy Director (Plymouth) on email #####@######.### or Vashti Berry, Senior Research Fellow, PenCLAHRC (Plymouth) on email #####@######.###
This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week and is fixed-term from 1 January 2016 until 31st December 2018.
Clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required for this position
