About the job
The main duties in this role will be to work within a multidisciplinary team, forming a part of a thorough service for patients with injuries, neuro conditions and helping them with rehabilitation. You work with a large team and provide assessment, treatment and help within a rehabilitation-led programme for service users, maintaining high standards of clinical practice and excellence.
Provide the physiotherapy service as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
Provide assessment, treatment and management of challenges to physical abilities.
Function as a key therapist to ensure active co-ordination and management of the therapeutic timetables and programmes to achieve the service user’s agreed rehabilitation goals.
Ensure accurate documentation of assessment, treatment and outcome measures
Participate in the development of physiotherapist (policies, guidelines) and service developments.
Participate in the multidisciplinary team (MDT) service developments.
Provide clear, accurate and timely reports.
Form part of the multidisciplinary team in the management of service users with a tracheostomy following the unit’s policies and procedures (level of responsibility will depend upon experience).
Participate in induction and training of students, assistants and support staff.
Participate in outcome measurement and regular review of service delivery.
Ensure that timely and ongoing clinical supervision is received.
Take responsibility for own professional & personal development through the performance and development reviews and attending all relevant training.
For this role, communication, rapport and relationship building skills are key. Sensitivity is key and you will provide feedback and reports to family and patients in a responsible and empathetic way.
In addition, you will partake in professional meetings offering views, opinions and best ways of practice – respecting the multi-skilled team at all times.
Ensure accurate and timely handover of patient related information to the Multidisciplinary Team and relevant agencies
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with people with cognitive impairment and communication difficulties
As per previously stated, you’ll demonstrate ability to be empathetic, motivating and reassuring to allow for active participation
Form close association with all staff and promote an integrated Multidisciplinary service
This position is only available to HCPC registered Physiotherapists, so please only apply if you have valid HCPC registration or are able to register in a timely fashion.
Newly qualified candidates will be considered for this role, but experience would be preferred.
In addition, you will have a valid right to work in the UK, this will be either a valid UK passport, birth certificate and NI details and/or work permit. T2 Visa applications will be considered on merit.
