Marine Centre Assistant (Saturdays- 1 day contract)Gael Force Marine Equipment Ltd., trusted manufacturer and supplier of equipment, technology and services to aquaculture, commercial fishing and leisure marine markets is actively looking to recruit a sales assistant within their Inverness Marine Store.
Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, confidentand a reliable individual whose duties will include assisting the manager,supervisor and other sales staff in the day-to-day running of ourretail/commercial outlet. This will include processing sales and orders,merchandising and maintaining stock, implementing promotions and general shopduties including cash handling, tidying and cleaning.
Applicants should ideally have previous retailexperience or a good understanding of the leisure/commercial marine sector.Consideration will also be given to those with general boating or watersportsexperience who feel that their knowledge can support the current sales team.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities Assisting the Manager and Supervisor in the Saturday running of the Megastore, working to achieve targets set for the shop. Working to Gael Force policies and procedures. Greeting customers and assisting with all enquiries including product selection, finding information and problem solving. Maintenance of, or change to, product displays on a regular basis, including special offers, sale products and general stock. Implementation of any promotions as required. Operating the Orderwise system to process sales/orders, refunds/credits & quotes. Operating the Orderwise system to help maintain the customer database and/or any other customer related information. Handling cash and receipts for the sale of merchandise by performing duties such as processing sales/invoices and balancing, sorting and securing cash. Maintaining the cleanliness of the store by ensuring that maintenance duties are completed on a regular basis. Opening and closing the store (when required), ensuring all security measures are followed at all times. Supporting the manager in promoting the store in whatever way possible, looking at ways to increase sales, increase awareness and maximise the store potential.
Job Requirements Experience in sales preferred together with a confident, outgoing nature. Knowledge of the leisure marine industry or good boating knowledge advantageous. Highest level of customer service. Ability to work using own initiative and as part of a team. Good merchandising skills. Competent in computing systems. Good communication skills and telephone manner.
In return for working a 7.5 hour week, Gael Force offers staff discount and a contributory pension scheme.
