About the job

My client, a market leading multidisciplinary Environmental Consultancy, is searching for a Team Leader to join, manage and expand the bespoke flood risk team based in Sheffield.

This exciting opportunity will offer you the chance to lead a bespoke team of Engineers and Consultants to complete varied Flood Risk, Surface Water and Drainage Projects for Local Authorities, Water Companies, Private Sector Clients and Housing Developers.

You will be expected to complete and check technical work, manage projects, mentor team members, visit flood risk sites and frequently liaise with Clients to discuss project development.

You will be expected to complete Flood Risk Assessments for Flood Zones 1,2 and 3, Surface Water Management Plans, Catchment Management Plans, Drainage Strategies and Hydraulic Modelling.

You will also be required to manage projects from feasibility to completion and ensure projects are delivered to time and budget.

You will also have the opportunity to expand the existing team and develop new business opportunities.

Candidates are required to have a BSc, MSc and/or PhD in a relevant subject (e.g. Hydrology, Environmental Management or Hydroinformatics) and have achieved or are close to achieving Chartered status. Candidates are required to have vast experience working for a UK based Consultancy or Local Authority completing Flood Risk Assessments and Surface Water Management Plans.

Candidates are required to be outgoing individuals who are keen to manage a team and have excellent communication skills required to liaise with clients and team members regarding project development and issues.

You are also required to have a valid UK licence to visit flood risk sites and utilise company vehicles.

It is also beneficial for applicants to have experience completing detailed drainage design using microdrainage or Hydraulic Modelling using Flood Modeller or Tuflow.
