The Position: They are now looking for a currently registered, Head and Neck Nurse in the North West or West Midlands to demonstrate the safe and effective use of Laryngectomy products within the community setting.

Basic Salary: to £35,000
Area working: North West (ideally Manchester/Liverpool) or West Midlands
Products: Tracheostomy devices
The aim of the role is to demonstrate the safe and effective use of laryngectomy products within the community setting and to optimise client independence, enhancing the quality of life following Laryngectomy.
Working with patients in their homes, you will carry out appliance use reviews for patients using laryngectomy products.
You will support the delivery of high quality, client focused home and community based care and support patients in your assigned location.
You will provide education, support and advice for the prescribed products for each patient and to conduct Appliance Use Reviews in accordance with national guidelines, and work collaboratively and maintain close working relationships with other healthcare professionals including the NHS.
You will initiate, establish and foster collaborative working with the acute hospital team, to effectively promote the nursing service.
You will have a clinical qualification and a relevant current registration, with at least three years post registration experience. It is essential that you have practical experience of laryngectomy/tracheostomy and experience within the home care /or community care sector as a registered practitioner (preferably ENT-based experience). You should be able to understand, recognise and manage an airway emergency for patients who breathe through a tracheostoma.
