Data Architect Cheshire up to £85,000

Our growing client based near Crewe, Cheshire is currently looking for an experienced Data Architect.

Responsibilities for a Data Architect:

  • Leading the definition and roadmap for the company data strategy.
  • Defining and designing the data warehousing solution and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Working closely with the business to make sense of the incoming data to provide meaningful reports to users/customers.
  • Working closely with the development team to define the data model and transformation processes that will feed the warehouse.
  • Participating in defining overall data architectures for bespoke business applications
  • Providing technical direction of the Enterprise Data Warehouse including the integration of new feeds
  • Participate in evaluating requirements, working with engineers and product managers to provide solutions to end users
  • Provide technical leadership to other members of the development team and project managers
  • Participate in BI product evaluations and business decisions to ensure fit and scale into the platform and the organisation

This is an agile based, green field development project, so good communication skills and the ability to take the initiative and think on ones feet are essential.

Skills and Attributes for a Data Architect:

  • Extensive experience with large data repositories
  • Very competent SQL skills for multiple platforms including one of PostgreSQL or MySql and MS SQL Server (other system exposure a benefit)
  • Knowledge of best practice for Data Quality Management, Master Data Management and near real time data warehousing
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools
  • Exposure to temporal and bitemporal systems
  • Experience with agile methods and the full software development life cycle
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and be selfmotivated, committed and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills (both technical and business)
  • Passionate about developing cutting edge solutions in a nascent sector
