Kent House Hospital School is an independent co-educational day school for young people aged 12 to 18 with mental health problems. Our students are all inpatients at Kent House Hospital, a Low Secure CAMHS unit in Orpington. The school delivers a full time education provision that embraces academic and vocational subjects. Accreditation is framed in line with national benchmarks and encourages independent and group learning, to foster self-belief and resilience. Safeguarding and supporting the young person's individual needs are paramount to our ethos of recovery through supported and aspirational learning. Whilst in our care, young people have access to nationally accredited study pathways including Functional Skills, GCSE and A Level.
We would like to recruit an individual who shares our vision of student-centred learning, framed within an exciting and flexible curriculum.
We are a collaborative and supportive team and aim to recruit a like- minded individual who would enjoy the opportunity to deliver subjects at Key stages 3, 4 and possibly 5. We set high standards for teaching and learning and our students have very good levels of attendance and engagement.

An unqualified teacher with substantial experience and /or experience working with young people with social, emotional or mental health problems?
The successful candidate will have responsibility for curriculum development in their areas of strength as well as the pastoral care of a small tutor group supported by the Head of School.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from mainstream or specialist education or community provision who are looking to move into a hospital specialist setting.

For all roles we require a minimum of two references. References provided must cover the last 3 years, or you are applying to work within our Children's Homes we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.
