We are looking for an Application Engineer to join a successful client based in the Reading area. In order to be successful in this position, you will have a good aptitude for absorbing new technology, be versatile and have a positive attitude whilst getting the job done.
The role is available due to company growth and you will be working for a world leader in design and manufacturing. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, bring new ideas to the table and contribute to the team with unique perspectives.
Degree qualification ideally in Physics, Mathematics or Electronics
Industry relevant product presales or project engineering experience
Desirable skills: Optoelectronics design, Optical fiber components (transceivers, Lasers, photodiodes)
Main duties will include:
Technical application and design support for internal and external customers
Presales technical and commercial support to the sales team
Presenting technical solutions in a client focused way both directly and within a formal presentation environment
Supporting new product design, integration and validation with other R&D team members
Supporting production staff (customised products)
Dealing with suppliers to identify new and better components
Working for extended hours at short notice and within tight deadlines.
Travelling to meet customers globally
The remuneration package is quite good and always evolving, but in essence you will receive a competitive salary of £4550,000 along with the following:
5 weeks annual holiday
Performance related bonus
