About the area youll be working in
We have a network of Health Clinics across the UK that provide a range of private Health services such as physiotherapy, health assessments and GP appointments. Our services and treatments are available to everyone not just those with health insurance.

What youll be doing

You will be a key component of UK 2nd line of defence within Bupas 3 lines of defence model for risk management and oversight. In addition to this, you will support the delivery of our Bupa UK strategy by helping to minimise the uncertainty in achieving business objectives caused by risks and incidents. You would also provide leadership, guidance and support to the provision business lines and central functions in areas of risk and assurance.

Whats a typical day

You will keep up to date with regulatory change ensuring clear processes for identifying, communicating and working with the business to implement new requirements. You will need to ensure senior management understand what their accountabilities mean and what is expected of them in the order to ensure the business areas operate within regulatory requirements. You would also work proactively with the relevant business areas to facilitate the identification and mitigation of risks within the businesses and escalate issues as appropriate to the Director of Governance and Provision Risk. Also, you will need to ensure the provision of high quality advice and guidance to all levels of the business for which you hold the responsible relationship, on regulatory requirements and expectations so that they comply with both the spirit and letter of regulation. In addition to these, you will need to liase with relevant 1st line assurance to enable them to prioritise and focus activity on high risk areas and facilitate effective relations between each function.

Who were looking for?

Youll have a strong risk management background and a clear understanding of the healthcare environment and CQC standards.

Demonstrable experience in risk and assurance audits
Professional qualification or relevant degree with extensive proven postqualification experience in risk or compliance related roles
Healthcare market knowledge
Experience of working in large, regulated businesses
Functional knowledge of risk, control and regulation across 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines of defence
Practical experience in developing, implementing and monitoring risk appetite statements and supporting key risk indicators
Strong ability to proactively assess and analyse relevant risks and oversee effective risk mitigation plans
Proven track record in apply good judgement based on business information and assessment frameworks in order to determine the degree of business and regulatory risk posed by actions and issues within the business
Advanced problemsolving and decisionmaking skills, with the ability to analyse complex information to identify the key issue/action and drive resolution
