About the job
Are you an experienced teaching assistant, with experience catering with pupils with SEND? Or, do you have extensive mainstream experience, with a particularly keen interest in working in SEND?
ITN Mark Education are currently seeking an enthusiastic and proactive teaching assistant to work in a large SEND school in Barking and Dagenham, a direct bus ride from Barking tube station, which caters for pupils with
complex needs. Class sizes are small (
no more than 6 8 pupils per class) to provide individualised and focused attention, and support provided throughout the school is excellent.
The school has both a primary and secondary setting on site, so a willingness to work across the age ranges is essential. However, the complex was built in 2015 and is very modern making the facilities simply firstclass!
For this role, ideally you will:
Be available 5 days a week.
Possess an uptodate DBS, or be willing to acquire one through ITN Mark Education.
Have previous experience catering for pupils with a range of SEND requirements, including; ASD/PMLD/complex
Have excellent communication skills, to effectively engage all pupils in the learning.
Be able to use positive reinforcement, in accordance with the schools behaviour policy, to effectively manage
behaviour and promote outstanding learning within the classroom.
