The IHC has at its core a desire to utilise its expertise, experience and resources to provide solutions and services of genuine impact and benefit for partners, stakeholders and the wider community. The facilitation of links between Higher Education Institutions and organisations delivering products and services to the community has been a focus for many international and funding bodies; funding which has helped support many of our partnerships.
The role of Director is an exciting opportunity to lead the Institute and drive forward the Institute's national and international profile. It is expected that this appointment will be made at Professorial level.
Some key duties include:
- Providing strategic leadership to ensure that the Institute delivers an agreed strategy- To liaise effectively with the Joint Health, Medicine and Social Sciences Leadership Board, Faculty Deans and other senior leaders to ensure that the institute is delivering value across all disciplines.- To provide the "public face" of the Institute, through attending meetings, events, networking and media work.- To lead and coordinate funding for research and other projects from a variety of external sources
It is expected that an appointment will be made to a permanent Professor, undertaking the role of Director of IHC on a fractional and fixed term basis.
As an excellent communicator and collaborator, you will have relevant qualifications and possess a successful track record of academic and research leadership that is recognised internationally. You will have experience in managing cross-disciplinary research initiatives and individuals and have demonstrable experience in managing projects, people and finances.
This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.
