An opportunity has arisen for a highly numerate individual to join the Oil and Gas Advisory Services team in Guildford. Reporting into the commercial and economics teams, the successful candidate will provide support in a number of areas including project delivery, business development and market research and analysis.SLRs Oil and Gas Advisory Services team delivers integrated business solutions to the upstream oil and gas industry. The hand-picked team comprises geoscientists; reservoir, petroleum and facilities engineers; economists; and commercial and financial experts with most offering over 20 years experience in the oil and gas industry. From dispute resolution to strategy formation, our integrated approach ensures clients benefit from holistic, practical business advice that translates into robust work outputs enabling executable, value adding decisions. Over a period of 20 years, the team has delivered business solutions in over 48 different countries around the world with particular focus in the UK, NW Europe and Africa. As a recognised and trusted partner to the industry, we have worked on over 60% of all producing UK fields. In Africa, we have delivered over 60 project solutions to 34 players active in the region since 2006. Responsibilities could include:• Preparation of client focussed presentation material to support business development activities, including assisting with the development of proposals and pitch packs, and the screening of speculative M&A opportunities to discuss with clients;• Responsible for researching, capturing, distilling and presenting data from the upstream oil and gas market including transaction data, competitor analysis, industry updates and client intelligence;• Performing commercial due diligence on M&A mandates including reviewing datarooms;• Performing economics evaluations on upstream and midstream oil and gas projects in the North Sea, Africa, and other regions, and preparing concise reports for clients which often include C-suite executives; andDeveloping financial models for client projects in Excel. These models could cover the upstream and midstream oil and gas sectors, or power projects.PERSON SPEC SUMMARYCandiates should be able to demonstrate:• Degree level qualification with a strong numerical element, coupled with high level of numeracy and capable of distilling and presenting key information from numerous data sets• Any knowledge of the Energy industry, particularly Oil and Gas would be useful, but applicants should have a desire to develop a career in this sector• Good desktop research skills and the ability to capture, analyse and present data (qualitative and quantitative)• Familiarity with financial modelling and valuations, with a focus on Discounted Cash FlowAPPLICATIONS SLR Consulting is an equal opportunities employer.
