The Priory Hospital Middleton St George provides specialist inpatient care for people, of adult working age, with mental health needs who present with complex needs and behaviours that challenge, in a safe and supportive environment. The hospital has 73 beds across five wards delivering individual treatment programmes for:
- High dependency rehabilitation for both males and females with challenging and complex needs
- Two Specialist DBT treatment units for female personality disorder
- Mixed 24/7 acute admission, assessment and treatment unit which also provides an inpatient detox service
We also have a small community step-down house in Darlington town centre, for males with challenging and complex needs.
The Priory Hospital Middleton St George is rated as Good overall by the Care Quality Commission, with each of the 5 key areas of inspection all individually rated as Good.

Due to expansion of the hospital with 2 new wards we are looking for a further 2 Occupational Therapists to lead on therapeutic activity provision. Reporting to the Head of Occupational Therapy, the successful candidate will work as part of the wider team.
This is a full-time (37.5 hrs) permanent role with a salary of up to £23,345 per annum (depending upon experience). The post holder must be qualified and be registered with the HCPC.
As an Occupational Therapist you will manage your own caseload as well as contributing to the Central Activity Programme which focuses on Vocational Rehabilition. You will also work as part of a Multi Disciplinary Team as well as the Occupational Therapy team.
Here at Middleton St George we use the Model of Human Occupation and it's assessment tools and you will be supported in the use of these and other Occupational Therapy assessments.
You will receive monthly clinical supervision as well as bi-monthly management supervision.
