About the job
Okus house is a residential home within Priory College Swindon which provides residential placements for students with specific social and communication difficulties, particularly autism and Asperger Syndrome, including co-morbid conditions. The home has a clear focus on providing education and improving employability and employment outcomes for young people aged 16 to 25 years old.
We recognise that every young person in our care is unique so we build personalised learning and care programmes around individual needs that combine education, therapy, independence skills, social skills training and care.
Okus house is a 52 week home which priovides 24 hour care for four serivce users.
The college is located in a large, vibrant town, which allows our students to access a wide range of facilities and amenities. The local Swindon mainline railway station has direct links to London Paddington, as well as a number of other nearby cities, including Bath, Bristol and Cardiff. A nearby coach station and good links to the M4 motorway ensures Priory College Swindon is easily accessible.
The successful candidate will need to have experience working with young people with autism and co morbid conditions, willing to work towards a suitable management level qualification, with experience in team leadership. The Senior Support Worker will be expected to work shifts, day, evening and weekends.
For all roles we require a minimum of two references. References provided must cover the last 3 years, or you are applying to work within our Children's Homes we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.
