Reference: A4250Description: The Role:A unique opportunity for a recently qualified Science Graduate to work on a joint project under the Knowledge Transfer Partnership programme, between Langage Farm and Plymouth University. The key objective will be to embed a technical function to apply fundamental food science principles, enabling the analysis of current production processes to improve efficiency, enhance product quality, reduce waste and allow access to new markets.

The Candidate:You will be a recent graduate with an honors degree 2:1 or above in Food Science/Technology, Biological/Chemical Sciences or related discipline. Knowledge and awareness or experience in areas such as quality management and control systems, production processes, process optimisation techniques, dairy technology or protein functionality would be desirable. As would experience of product development, project management and/or benchtop and instrumental analysis within the agrifood or relevant industry.
You will have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts to a wide range of user groups of all ages. You should be personable, enthusiastic and able to engage others in development work. You will also have excellent initiative, proved ability to learn independently, attention to detail, be tenacious and have the ability to problem solve creatively. Being able to work as part of a small team and having the willingness to take the project lead will also be expected.

This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis for 30 months. The post will be based in Plymouth, Devon.
