Supported Living Manager



We are looking for an experienced Supported Living Manager you will be caring and supporting adults living with a learning disability or autism.

Reporting into the Director of Operations, you will lead a service implementation through to operational delivery. You will enable and promote a quality service that is professional and consistent while ensuring your staff teams are attuned to the company vision.

You should have strong communication skills across all methods, solid leadership experience and is able to stay in control and will be required to work with both internal and external stakeholders at an effective level.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To work in line with the Company's equal opportunities policies and procedures,
  • To contribute to the development of the Supported Living Services,
  • To assess and plan new service referrals as delegated by the Director of Operations,
  • To liaise with Local Authorities and other external organizations as needed,
  • To positively promote and present as a role model of high professionalism both within and to external stakeholders, families and service users,
  • To maintain the day to day running of services within the delegated area of responsibility, implementing new service delivery systems as agreed with your Director of Operations,
  • To ensure that a service and property review is undertaken regularly,
  • To attend regular review meetings with the Director of Operations, or with the Director of Quality + Governance where appropriate

To be considered for this role it is essential that you are / have;

  • Able to work under pressure
  • Experience and skills in liaising with external professionals and organizations
  • Knowledge and experience in the effective supervision of staff
  • Experience and understanding of monitoring and evaluating service quality and delivery
  • Able to deploy staff effectively and to construct effective rotas
  • Experience of working within Supported Living services
  • Experience in assessing potential clients, to develop complex support and care package
  • Familiarization with Safeguarding / Adult Protection issues and procedures
  • Knowledge, and experience in the practical application, of the following Government publications:

  • Valuing People (2001)

  • Our Health Our Care Our Say (2006)
  • Disability Discrimination Act (1995)
  • Improving the Life Chances of Disabled People (2005)
  • Data Protection Act (1998)

Qualifications / Skill

  • NVQ 4 or 5 in Health & Social Care, or the equivalent qualification

  • RNLD / RMN essential with experience in learning disabilities and autism.

  • Experience in Management position within Learning Disabilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form
  • Competent in word and excel
  • Experience in liaising with service users and families/advocates
  • Ability to motivate others
  • Negotiation skills
  • Able to take part in essential on-call provision
  • Car driver and U.K. driving license
  • Willingness to work occasional extended hours
