FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER Refrigeration Engineer / Cooling Engineer / AC Engineer
Salary: £30,000 £40,000 per annum + Company Vehicle + overtime + oncall allowance + pension
Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire and nationwide
Hours: 37.5 hours per week + on call rota
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer / Cooling Engineer / AC Engineer to join a leading specialist provider of predominantly Data Centre services to the corporate market place to further augment its high quality customer engineering support service.
To hold responsibility for the effective delivery of cooling field service activities across the complete range of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, particularly in data centre environments.
Responsible for performing effective assembly /installation on all equipment across the entire product range. Performing start up/commissioning on all equipment across the full product line on single module and multimodule systems.
Carrying out service maintenance, repair and emergency response actions for Air Conditioning, HVAC systems, Cooling and Refrigeration systems and the provision of infrastructure support services to clients.
Carrying out site investigations involving refrigeration and air conditioning analysis, site surveys and customer consultations.
Performing project coordination duties (including management of installation, during site implementation).
Provision of all technical reports on all work carried out.
Monitoring system performance for indications of refrigerant leakage, understanding of environmental impact of F gases in line with latest policies.
The successful Refrigeration Engineer / Cooling Engineer / Air Conditioning Engineer will have extensive knowledge of cooling/refrigeration and Air Conditioning systems, ideally utilised in Data Centre environments, and has:
Relevant qualifications related to the handling and administering of refrigerant gases.
A recognised qualification in both refrigeration and air conditioning (e.g. City & Guilds or HNC level in AirConditioning / Refrigeration / HVAC / Chillers / M&E level.
Suitable and demonstrable experience of servicing and maintaining cooling / chiller systems.
Previous experience of Split systems, VRVs, chillers, AHUs essential.
Extensive experience of a Cooling field service based role, working with both refrigeration and air conditioning units.
Good working knowledge of mechanical/refrigeration component and air conditioning theory and practices.
Extensive knowledge of HVAC controllers and good technical knowledge of electricity
Experience of fault finding and corrective actions along with the ability to work on an emergency call out basis will also be important.
The ability to provide new installation information, carry out surveys, and take off drawings.
The ability to resolve common refrigeration and air conditioning issues.
The ability to effectively run own projects and work effectively autonomously.
A current Cat 1 FGas / FGas Certificate or Safe Handling Certificate highly advantageous.
Good knowledge of mechanical & electrical / M&E / building services advantageous.
NVQ Level 2 onwards within Air Conditioning & Refrigeration advantageous.
