An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proven Children`s Home Residential Manager with excellent leadership skills.

This opportunity is working for a fantastic company who truly value their children in care as well as their staff

The aim’s of the home are to provide a safe haven in which children and young people can learn appropriate life skills and behaviour, which will help them to live fulfilling lives beyond their time and experience in care Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To have overall responsibility for managing referrals into the service
  • To ensure all children & young people in residence at the home are risk and needs assessed and that these assessments are regularly reviewed and updated
  • To ensure that high quality support and transition services are provided to young people
  • To safeguard children & young people through sound management strategies, collaborative working with external agencies and emergency services and compliance with local authority safeguarding procedures
  • Oversee and develop effective working relationships with partners and commissioners, ensuring the home is contract compliant and is well thought of within the borough
  • Ensures the Home operates in accordance with legislations, standards and guidance
  • Provide line management, supervision and appraisal to staff
  • Ensure monthly team meetings are held and staff are informed about the organisation’s strategic goals
  • Hold day to day responsibility for deployment and management of staffing
  • Ensure that all staff receive appropriate induction, training and development opportunities

Minimum requirements:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services or
  • A recognised social work qualification or a professional qualification relevant to working with children
  • NVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care or willingness to undertake training within 6 months of commencement of employment
  • At least two years experience relevant to residential care within the last five years
  • At least one year of experience supervising and managing professional staff
  • Experience of managing children & YP accommodation services
