Location: Exeter – Nationwide Travel required.

As our Employee Relations Business Partner, you will work alongside the wider HR Business Partner team to help develop, implement and maintain the Group People Strategy. You'll build strong relationships with relevant trade unions and employee representative groups in order to develop the business strategy, whilst establishing effective communication between all groups across the business.
You'll lead an effective Employee Advisory Service across the business, with a focus on continuous improvement and proactively help to develop a Centre of Expertise. You will line manage the Employee Relations team and ensure that an excellent service is provided to all customers across the business, whilst developing a framework to upskill and empower our people managers.
In addition, your existing experience in a similar role will mean that you can drive people related initiatives, whilst challenging the status quo and continually developing ideas, benchmarking against best practice and industry standards.
You'll act as the escalation point for complex and high-risk cases, further develop ways in which we capture and utilise ER data for informed decision making and develop tools and frameworks to upskill our people managers, empowering and equipping them to manage their teams safely and effectively.
Our ideal Employee Relations Business Partner will have:
CIPD qualified or working towards a professional ER qualification alongside a sound knowledge of HR best practice and employment legislation.
Experience of providing guidance on ER issues and managing complex cases and resolution strategies; knowledge of ACAS and experience of TUPE and significant organisational change
Strong leadership and coaching skills
Ability to work in an organised manner within a fast paced and demanding environment.
Strong influencing, communication and relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Analytical skills with the ability to interpret people data to identify trends, challenges and opportunities.
Pragmatic and future thinking mindset whilst being resilient and ethical.
Project management knowledge or experience would be desirable.
Experience of working within the waste and recycling industry is desirable but not essential
