Reference: A4043Description: The School of Health Professions, Plymouth University, launched in January 2013 the fully equipped Centre for Eye Care Excellence (CEE) which provides the training and clinical facilities of our final year optometry students and research projects. Applications are invited from Optometrists with an interest in clinical and educational aspects of our profession for these new part-time positions to support the clinical teaching in this setting.
The role requires the Optometrist to supervise students in all relevant aspects of optometry, in accordance with both University and professional regulations, whilst retaining responsibility for patient care. Involvement in assessment of students towards core competencies is also anticipated.
You will have been registered with the General Optical Council for at least one year, and are able to work on a part time basis between September and May (inclusive) next academic year.
The initial contract will be renewable subject to satisfactory probation. Training in supervision will be provided.
