My client, a leading project and cost management consultancy operating at the forefront of the transport, property and industry sectors is recruiting Managing Quantity Surveyors once again.

  • Due to continued growth, the internationally recognised company are seeking exceptional Managing Quantity Surveyors to join their highly successful team in Birmingham.

The Birmingham Office has a large portfolio of infrastructure and rail clients and is at the forefront of the national delivery to the rail sector, with a high profile and strong reputation for delivering high quality services. With many opportunities in major rail projects such as HS2 or East West Rail.

This role has excellent prospects for individuals who have a strong ambition to progress. As well as technical competence, who possesses first class communication skills, strong commercial awareness and who will provide a firstclass service to our clients and a commitment to drive new business opportunities.


Act as the lead for commercial services multidisciplinary teams and reviewing and reporting on all aspects of project within our portfolio. Developing and maintaining our reputation through developing business opportunities. Ensure the quality and timeliness of service delivery to our clients, acting as primary interface to help build client confidence. You will be responsible for providing effective and efficient administration of project accounts and the management of internal job costings in relation to the fee and services and resource requirements. You will be responsible for writing, editing and preparing client reports as well as reviewing commercial situation and advising the client accordingly.

Requirements of the Managing Quantity Surveyor:

Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (or equivalent) Experience in at least two of the following: preparing tender and contract documentation, preparing estimates for rail infrastructure works, postcontract administration A practical understanding of construction risk and commercial management Experience of managing project commercial teams and supporting other colleagues. Knowledge and understanding of the key commercial issues relating to works delivered in a railway environment Experience in highways would also be beneficial.
