The Drill Hall Library is a unique and major facility providing an integrated library and IT service to staff and students of the Universities at Medway, comprised of the Universities of Greenwich, Kent and Canterbury Christ Church at their shared Medway Campus.
We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Systems Technician to play a key role in the delivery of the Drill Hall Library's innovative computing services, including the shared desktop, PCs and associated hardware, servers and infrastructure.
You will provide direct support to users from across the three partner institutions. You should have extensive experience of supporting Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010 (or later), mobile devices and wireless configuration.
The successful candidate will have an opportunity to shape the way that systems are used to underpin the unique partnership arrangements at Medway, and an ability to problem solve and find innovative solutions is essential.
The DHL Technical team provide face-to-face, telephone and remote support to a wide range of academics and students using computing and teaching equipment in the Drill Hall and adjacent shared teaching spaces, and the post holder will play a role in delivering this support.
Short-listed candidates will be expected to sit a short skills test as well as attend an interview.
This post is being advertised as part of the Universities of Medway joint venture. The University of Greenwich will be administering the recruitment for this role.
The role is based within the Drill Hall Library on the Medway campus at Chatham.
