Excellent opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Vet to work within a purpose built hospital and across their branches to advance your career. This is a great role for a Small Animal Vet who wishes to work in a fast pace environment with a varied case load with a supportive team of Vets and Nurses.
Independent and growing small animal practice with an accredited RCVS hospital and 3 branches.Proud to have a purpose-built hospital with all the facilities and equipment to enable them to deliver a gold standard level of animal care.Due to continuing organic growth, they are looking to expand the Vet teamTo ensure work live balance a Vet is rota to work no more than an average of 42 hours per week and while on call you have the support of a senior VetThe practice team is made up of 11 Vets at present and they are looking to increase this to 13 Vets in total being a supportive team that works hard and socialises togetherGood mixture of New graduate and Experience Vets - meaning if you are newly qualified they have experience with training new grads and can support this exciting start to your career.You will work alongside certificate holders in cardiology and ophthalmology and have other vets working towards certificates, as a result they are very fortunate not to refer many cases.They offer the opportunity to expand surgical experience through a busy and varied surgical list and you can gain sole charge experience at branch level. You can further enhance medicine knowledge via the busy Tier 3 hospital ward and they are fully supportive of further training ambitions.Great team of Nurses who will support you. This includes a Head Nurse, a specialist theatre Nurse, 7 RVN's and 8 SVN's. The Nurses are there 24-7 and answer the out of hour's calls - this means that when on-call the Vet's duties only involve the actual emergency work.Pride themselves on providing a full out of hours' emergency service and this is shared on a 1 in 6-night rota.The on call duty Vet starts at 2pm and then has the following day off. Weekend coverage is 1 in 3.To ensure work live balance a Vet is rota to work no more than an average of 42 per week and while on call you have the support of a senior VetThis role is based close to the beautiful welsh coast line which has great surfing, coastal walks and many other water sports.They are also close to Cardiff - which is has been voted 3rd most liveable city in the UK!London is accessible through a 2-hour train trip.
