Public Health England and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Statistician, who will work at PHE and at the LSHTM to support the work of the new Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in Immunisation. The objective of the HPRU is to facilitate world-class research that will impact directly on policy and enhance health protection through vaccination in the NHS. The successful applicant will be a key member of the HPRU Electronic Health Records group, which aims to use linked electronic health records, other routine data, and innovative methodology to support PHE's programme of work on disease surveillance and on uptake, effectiveness and safety of existing and new vaccines
We are looking for a statistician with a post-graduate degree in Medical Statistics (or equivalent), who has significant experience in statistical modelling, epidemiological analysis, and programming using statistical software. The post-holder will provide statistical input into the design of studies and the management and analysis of linked electronic health data as well as contributing to proposals for research funding, writing reports and papers and presenting research findings.
This is a joint PHE/LSHTM post – it provides an exciting opportunity to work on a portfolio of HPRU projects, with about 50% of the post-holder's time spent at PHE and 50% at the Faculty of Epidemiology & Population Health at LSHTM.
The closing date for applications is November 18th 2014. More details and application forms are available at:
