My client is a software house whos growth has resulted in them delivering high quality bespoke digital services to the Healthcare, Government and Corporate sectors and I am looking for a talented Java Developer who can write fantastic code to join the team in the sunny North East office of Newcastle. (cant guarantee the sun though)
They started off in London 5 years ago so by no means are a start up but now need a bunch of talented individuals to get the Newcastle office off the mark which means it is a very exciting time to join the business because you will witness the growth with your own eyes of this location and be a key player in every stage of the process.
You will get ahead of the local competition by gaining exposure to projects working with AWS, AI and VR at enterprise level which from speaking to developers on the market seems to be on everyones Christmas list this winter.
But what can you expect to do on a day to day as a Java Developer?
Technical Angle As a Java Developer at my client you will work with clients on one or more agile projects in order to deliver a niche product so working on complex digital projects is something you will have to face on a day to day. Therefore strong Java, Spring and Hibernate are the core skills I need to see from you for this role. Youll get exposure to AWS and get to work on enterprise projects which Im sure you can agree will add fantastic value to you as a developer.
The Team & Environment Your team will consist of a friendly bunch working in an agile environment. Development of the team is the highest value of my client and so upon joining forces with them a clear structure will be put in place so that they are getting the very best out of you and in turn you are getting the best out of them Its a two way street!
Nobody is put in a corner so team communication and loud opinions on projects are all welcomed, youll be joining a technical family so throw anything you want at the drawing board.
Overall what skills would my client like to see?
Regard yourself as a Java expert with excellent knowledge of Spring Framework with and a clear understanding of dependency injection
Solid understanding of Hibernate
Can work to agile methodologies ( TDD/BDD )
Experience with build tools such as Maven, gradle
Jenkins/Gitlab for continuous integration
Understanding of developing REST based web services
Experience integrating systems using a wide variety of protocols like REST, SOAP, JSON and a number of others
Git, BitBucket, Subversion
