You will provide assistance with care, personal support, daily living tasks or activities to customers in order to support them attain their full potential, maximise options available and encourage choice, participation and motivation.

You don’t need any specific qualifications or experience although experience of providing personal care is advantageous. You will however, need plenty of enthusiasm and passion for our work.

This post is advertised as a support worker post 32 hours per week, to work with a young man, providing his personal and nursing care and support. He is 26 years old, has full capacity, and is a wheelchair user.

He is looking for a personal assistant to support him with daily living, including shopping, food preparation and assistance with his meals, with personal care (including delegated nursing tasks which you will be taught by our Nurses), and most importantly with access to his community. He needs escorting to wheelchair football, and also to other community contacts. he enjoys watching motor racing and meeting up with friends locally.

You will need to be flexible in your working hours, as they are unlikely to be the same every week. Your hours will cover (with a colleague) 7 days a week, and will include days, evenings and sometimes late finishes (by negotiation with him). Your job purpose is to facilitate him living his life . You will need to be a driver, and will have access to the services vehicles, by negotiation.
