I am currently working with one of the worlds leading Food and Beverage manufacturing businesses. They are looking for an Engineering Team Leader. If you have experience as an Engineering Team Leader or Manager Engineer and come from a mechanical background then this opportunity is for you.

This role is responsible for managing and developing a team of 12 Engineers and the department on a day to day basis, being responsible for ensuring safe and efficient performance within the engineering team, whilst adhering to quality standards in respect to utilities, manufacturing and site production Lines. It will also play an influential role in the continuous improvement programme underway at the business, specifically in terms of planned maintenance.

Accountabilities:

Maintenance Management:

Manage and improve planned maintenance schedules Manage the Engineering resource in terms of planned and reactive maintenance to ensure an effective service is maintained at all times Managing ISO for engineering, specifically calibration
*Prepare and oversee insurance inspections

Budget Management:

Control Engineering stock levels to ensure fully maintained at all times Reducing utility costs through Continuous Improvement processes
*Reducing Spares Spend

People Management:

Complete the Engineering training matrix Play an active role in the management of the Engineering Team, managing people and resources
Ensure that the team understand the strategy, their part in its achievement and the policy of maintaining & improving the individual quality & character of all products Ensure excellent team communication is maintained and staff feel included and informed
Identify timely responses to overcome performance issues and ensure appropriate action is taken Develop and manage the capability of the Engineering Team, ensuring they are able to meet the demands of the business
*Overall responsibility for motivating, assessing training requirements and dealing with employee relations issues within the team

Hygiene and H&S:

To meet and exceed quality standards at all levels Ensure the health and safety of staff within the workplace

Compliance:

Ensure all legal requirements are met at all times, overseeing process control requirements.
*Ensure safe systems of work are in place at all times.

Ability to communicate amongst a variety of people from customers to contractors to Operations Managers and Directors.

Ability to motivate and lead the team to inspire them to be safe and maintain our quality standards. Knowledge in terms of our quality standards, health and safety and any external legalisation relevant to this department.

Required Experience, Training and Qualifications:

To be a Time Served Electrical/Mechanical engineer HNC in Engineering
A confident, determined character with good communication skills. A high level of selfmotivation and the gravitas to manage a team.
Good organisational and creative problem solving skills with attention to detail. Have an understanding of food safety standards and good manufacturing practice.
Relevant engineering knowledge. Experience of working in the food/FMCG industry.
A good understanding of health and safety. Experience working with/around steam generation
Experienced working with/around Compressed air generation Experienced working with/around Refrigeration
