Our client a leading public sector body are looking to recruit a Solutions Architect to join a new
IT Strategic Design team within their Business Systems directorate. A key objective of the team is to bring a more disciplined design process to how they initiate major change, particularly those which involves a high degree of IT change.

The team will work collaboratively with both business and technical teams to initiate, deliver and govern across a wide range of projects in support of business and technology strategies.


You will deliver highquality, continually improving, efficient and responsive services to customers. The client is embarking on a wideranging change programme that will require solution architecture leadership to support the implementation of both custom and off the shelf application solutions.


The successful candidate will be required to collaborate on the Enterprise Architecture providing guidance and governance in its development, taking into account relevant architectures, strategies, and policies resulting in the development of new and existing capabilities that support the corporate goals and objectives.


Responsibilities


Creating highlevel solution designs to support business areas during the development stage of business proposals, specifically focusing on the application and integration aspects of the solution.

Providing consultancy and advice on solution/application change and the impact of that change on an enterprise level to ensure compatibility with both the technical and business architecture.

Undertaking design assurance on key programme and project deliverables to ensure modifications to architectures take account of relevant strategies, policies, standards and practices while ensuring that existing and planned capabilities remain compatible.


Experience required:


Developing, communicating and enforcing design principles, strategies, policies, standards and practices to ensure that appropriate standards (corporate, government, industry, national and international) are adhered to.

Developing the content of all application architecture aspects of the organisations Enterprise Architecture framework (based on best industry practice), procedures, processes and tools to support the Enterprise Architecture capability and continually learn from feedback on how to improve these.

Developing key relationships with external government bodies, vendors and organisations in the educational area to ensure policies and industry trends are being incorporated into the organisations architecture vision.
