I am working with a fantastic setting in Burnley which is a specialist learning environment for children with a wide range of learning difficulties including moderate and severe learning difficulties, complex needs and autism.

  • The role includes:

Providing assistance to the class teacher To manage small groups of children independently Placements in a variety of classes with varying abilities To support the general wellbeing of the students in the school To monitor and evaluate pupils learning under the guidance of the teacher To assist the teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place

  • Requirements:

SEN TA experience or mainstream experience is essential A desire to encourage children to succeed A caring, patient and calm personality Ability to work with students with a variety of learning difficulties Have an understanding of children with special needs Be flexible in approach to education Team teach would be ideal
