This job is based in Erith, and will let your mechanical and electrical skills shine. The company we are working with have over 80 years of experience in a fast moving logistic distribution environment. My client have implemented more than 4,500 automation systems for their customers in a variety of different market sectors.

This position will be based on our customer site in Erith and the multiskilled maintenance engineer will be tasked to perform PPM and reactive maintenance in fully automated distribution centre. On a variety of different MHE such as conveyor systems, shuttles, storage and retrieval systems etc.

The position is paying £40,600 and is working a mixture of days and nights. (4 on 6 off shift) holiday is incorporated with the shift, if you require more days off, you simply swap shifts with another engineer.

Main duties:

Carry out AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with the quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals

To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices

Diagnosis of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC faults and subsequent repairs

Prioritise system faults

To comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times

To ensure quality of output at all times

Involvement in continuous improvement and sales opportunities

Maintain product flow at all times To ensure onsite spares are kept to optimum level To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and maintain customer relations

To adhere to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company


To be successful in this role you will ideally have previous experience in an automated warehouse environment or be looking to develop your maintenance career in the automated warehousing industry.

ONC in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or with a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
Basic understanding of control systems and techniques
Basic understanding of PLC equipment
Working at height
Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems
Understanding of prepreventive maintenance (PPM) schedules
