The Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry work in a strong partnership with the University and NHS to provide contemporary, patient-centred and integrated medical and dental programmes and a suite of research-led bioscience and healthcare science degree programmes. Research within the Schools is directly relevant to improving patient health and the quality of patient care, and hence is readily applicable to inform and enrich the education of doctors, dentists and the other healthcare professions. Our renowned clinical and science education researchers have informed the development and continued evolution of the exciting and innovative curricula. An investment into a new building for clinical and bioscience research will strengthen the environment for healthcare research, and also enrich the environment within which clinical, bioscience and other health programmes are taught, as well as benefitting patients and the NHS.The Schools work in close partnership with Derriford, the region's premier trauma centre and teaching hospital, and with a variety of community-based clinical partners, ensuring an excellent student experience with immersion in the clinical environment throughout the course. The programmes provide students with all the skills, knowledge and support they need to become outstanding clinicians and healthcare scientists that meet the health and social care needs of the 21st Century.We are seeking to appoint an individual with a strong background in assessment psychometrics, and who are highly motivated to work in a team to deliver cutting-edge psychometric/statistical input to the assessment of undergraduate and post-graduate medical, dental and bioscience curricula. The primary function of the role is to provide core psychometric support.You will contribute to maintaining Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry as a national and international leader in contemporary assessment in clinical education.The psychometrics team function to provide rigorous and evidence-informed psychometric/statistical analysis and expert support for the evaluation and quality assurance of assessment data.
