What our 18-month programme involves
Our apprenticeships offer you the chance to earn while you learn and study towards a qualification. You'll learn everything you need to become a fully qualified Butcher. You’ll develop your knife skills, so you can maximise cuts and minimise waste. And you’ll get to know all about animal welfare, our supply chain and where all of our meat comes from.
What you’ll study towards
A Level 2 Butchery Apprenticeship. Over 18 months, you’ll work your way through a series of modules and have regular reviews and assessments to help you grow your skills and knowledge.
What you’ll need
To be aged at least 16Our Woodheads business has one of the best known names in the British meat industry (with a history stretching back over 100 years). We are still the only major supermarket to own it’s own abattoir and meat processing operations, giving us unique traceability and control over our supply chain. Having our own meat business means we are the only big supermarkets to buy cattle, sheep and pigs direct from British Farmers, with our own team of specialist livestock buyers.
