About the job
Project Quantity Surveyor External Refurbishment Listed Building
The beauty of working in social housing maintenance and refurbishment within construction, is that, regardless of what else goes on in the industry, this is one stream of work that is constant and rarely affected by the wider economy.
Because the Great British way of life has a high standard of living and this always needs to be adhered to within social housing.
Social housing refurbishment and maintenance is infinite.
And while many of the best Quantity Surveyors may feel nervous about changing roles due to the uncertainty of Brexit, with this opportunity you need not fear.
Not only is my client extremely busy, the project you will be based on still has another 2 years to run.
The project is on a NEC form of contract and the scope of work includes, major external refreshments which will entail, replacing sash windows and architectural doors, upgrading and installing new fire rated cladding, roof and some structural repairs.
The social housing estate and residential buildings are listed and part of English heritage, which will make the project more interesting as the buildings must not lose their original character.
Project Quantity Surveyors will report into a Senior Quantity Surveyor and be supported by an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
You will be working off a bespoke version of the NHF schedule of rates, due to the building being listed.
Quantity Surveyors will also be given the chance to become more involved in the contractual side of surveying in social housing and therefore it would be beneficial to have working knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
My client has pretty high standards and expect Quantity Surveyors to be degree qualified with a stable employment history.
In return, they will give you the opportunity to work for a company that has won awards for their investment in their employees and professional training programmes.
You will work in a structured environment with robust processes and procedures and be based between their office in Harold Wood and the site in Camden.
Should you be a Quantity Surveyor and you are interested in this role please apply to this advert today.
