We are looking for a home-based Apprenticeship Trainer to tutor and assess Catch22 apprentice learners undertaking the level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship. Frequent travel is a feature of this job, as you will be spending time with our learners across the country.

Reporting to the Apprenticeships Operations Manager, you will be delivering Catch22 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standards, through off-the-job training to Catch22 apprentice learners, ensuring delivery is at an excellent ( i.e. grade 1 ) standard. You will ensure all processes and procedures are in place in preparation for any Ofsted, Skills Funding Agency, employer, awarding body inspection and internal audit.

As Apprenticeship Trainer (Teaching Assistants), your main duties will include:

Tutoring and where appropriate assessing Catch22 apprentice learners in relation to achieving their apprenticeship standard. This may include gaining units or whole recognised national qualifications, developing appropriate skills, knowledge and behaviours, functional skills and personal development including CPD.
-Coaching, advising and guiding learners so that they develop the mindset qualities, willpower, and positive habits and recognise the importance of practice to succeed in the world of work.
-Challenging and pushing learners so that they `go above and beyond’ their learning and training and become ambitious to succeed in their careers.
-Delivering teaching and training sessions including Masterclasses in accordance with the new Apprenticeship Standards and Matrix to develop apprentices’ skills, knowledge and behaviours.
-Managing a caseload of up to 45 Catch22 apprentice learners. This figure may vary and the caseload may increase or decrease.
-Focusing on achieving 100% End Point Assessment achievement rates for learners on caseload and to reduce any early exits to zero.
-Monitoring and maintaining appropriate paperwork and OneFile records of progress and to report all cases of apprentice learner sickness and absence.
-Maintaining comprehensive apprentice teaching, learning and assessment records and submitting a range of evidence to the Internal Verifier on a regular basis for sampling.
-Establishing, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with employers, stakeholders and other organisations involved in the delivery of the apprenticeship.
-Working closely with the Business Development team to identify potential vacancies.
-Supporting the recruitment of learners to the Catch22 Apprenticeship Programme and relevant standards in order to meet the yearly targets.
-Supporting the Curriculum Manager, Internal Quality Assurers, Quality and Operational Manager to manage and co-ordinate any improvement plans required after any internal/external audits.
Qualifications

Essential criteria:

D32/33 or A1 Assessor Award
-GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
-Award in Education and Training at Level 3 or equivalent
-Significant experience in the relevant standard field.
-Experience of working closely with employers in relation to apprenticeships
-Experience of undertaking formal audits and the procedures undertaken leading to a positive outcome
-Experience of delivering level 3 Teaching Assistant Standards
-Knowledge and understanding of Teaching Assistant Standards, NVQ’s, AET and functional skills.
-Knowledge of quality standards relating to SFA, Sector Skills Councils, employer frameworks, Awarding Bodies
-Knowledge of contracts and deliverables relating to the delivery of apprenticeships and other government initiatives.
-Knowledge of key performance data and metrics relating to apprenticeship standard and case load.
-Presentation and communication skills to a high standard
-Project management skills
-Ability to work in team and on own initiative
-Ability to work to tight schedules and complete frameworks by expected end dates
-ICT skills, particularly MS products and CRM system
-Understanding safeguarding issues
-Able to effectively innovate and constructively challenge
-Able to manage conflict effectively and creatively
-Able to communicate clearly, logically and effectively
Desirable criteria:Experience of delivering services in the training sector
-IAG qualification
-Able to appreciate and articulate the role of ICT in the effective delivery of services and programmes.

Additional Information

Salary: £25,000

This role is home-based with frequent national travel

Owing to the national travel involved, you will need to hold a full clean driving licence and have access to a car which can be used for business purposes.

You will need to work flexibly to meet the needs of the apprenticeship contract and other employability contracts including some evening and weekend working.
