The School of Computing, Electronics & Mathematics (Faculty of Science and Engineering) is looking for an encouraged and self-motivated Early Stage Researcher (ESR) to undertake research and development on Intelligent QoE Control and Management within the EU H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie, QoE-NET project on Innovative Quality of Experience Management in Emerging Multimedia Services (###.######.### You are expected to investigate and develop intelligent QoE control and management schemes which are able to learn and adapt to changing media contents, transmission/network conditions and a variety of mobile consumption devices to achieve end-to-end optimised Quality of Experience (QoE) for delivered video services.The position is for up to three years starting 1st September 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter. The ESR will be one of twelve ESRs in the QoE-NET Initial Training Network (ITN) and will work together with another ESR on innovative QoE Business Model at Plymouth University.You should hold a very good first degree in a relevant area (e.g. multimedia/mobile networking, communication technology, computer science, electronics, or related discipline). Applicants with a relevant Master degree would be particularly welcome.You will be required to undertake PhD studies at the School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics, Plymouth University and must fulfil the requirements of the programme. You will visit other network partners for secondments, and attend the training events of the network. You will be fully funded (100% employment) according to the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions programme, which offers highly competitive and attractive salary and working conditions.ITN applicants have to ensure compliance with the Marie-Curie mobility requirement: At the time of recruitment, you must not have lived in the UK for more than 12 out of the past 36 months.
