About the job
This role is for is to;
Plan, organise, coordinate and facilitate initial Family Group Conferences and reviews in a way that responds appropriately to the needs of families from diverse backgrounds.
Receive referrals and to meet with the referrer and relevant professionals to identify the reasons for the request, clarify concerns and expectations and agree respective roles and responsibilities.
Exercise a high degree of independence, initiative and expertise in order to coordinate meetings which bring together families, community members and professionals to make and agree safe plans for children and young people within their network.
Prepare the children, family members and relevant professionals for the meeting.
Ensure that all family members are able to participate fully in the family group conference process, in particular to facilitate the involvement of children and young people in Family Group Conferences using a wide range of communication techniques.
Supporting families to draw up plans and arrangements which will ensure the child is safely cared for within their family network.
Ensure that Safeguarding procedures are adhered to, recognising and taking action in relation to the safety of children where concerns and risks are identified and for those excluded arrange alternative arrangements.
Take part in regular supervision, practice development groups and training sessions to ensure good quality practice, up to date knowledge, skills and continuous professional development.
