Penguin Recruitment are currently supporting a global and market leading technical services provider in their search for an experienced and talented Senior Public Health Engineer for their team in Warrington

Responsibilities and authority:

The ideal candidate must have experience of the full design and construction life cycle within the specific field of Public Health Engineering, from concept design through to site installation, defects inspection and commissioning.

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate design experience in the following Public Health sectors:

Domestic cold water systems Domestic hot water systems Foul water drainage Rainwater drainage Natural gas piped infrastructure Fire suppression systems including wet and dry risers in addition to commercial and residential sprinkler suppression systems (experience of British Standards, LPC required and NFPA desired). Experience of misting suppression systems beneficial but not essential. Sustainable systems and technology including solar domestic hot water, rainwater harvesting and grey water harvesting Site wide buried infrastructure design including utility connection applications Experience with BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes specifically water related credits

Education and Experience:

Degree qualified preferable, but not essential if candidate has relevant experience Relevant professional qualification is essential and membership of CIPHE / SoPHE is desirable

Specific skills, knowledge, competencies and training:

Essential:

Proven experience of project work including above and below ground foul and rainwater design, water services design, fire protection system designs, and natural gas designs Extensive experience across a range of medium to large scale projects and / or building types Have a keen and developing interest in sustainable design Be able to design and deliver public health engineering solutions on major and/or complex projects Experience of working directly with clients and end users Able to understand the balance of engineering priorities on differing projects Able to quickly develop successful client relationships Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is essential Excellent planning and organisational skills Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) Able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness
